Two dominant AI approaches stand out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Automated AI Research Pipelines<\/strong> (e.g., DeepResearch, or as we will use here, Open DeepResearch Solutions) \u2013 Designed for structured, iterative deep dives into complex topics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Conversational AI Assistants<\/strong> (e.g., ChatGPT-4o) \u2013 Optimized for interactive, dynamic discussions and immediate knowledge retrieval.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p id=\"ember1241\">In this article, we\u2019ll use a real-world example to compare an open-source DeepResearch solution and ChatGPT, both utilizing OpenAI&#8217;s GPT-4o-mini, and examine how they differ in research methodology.
